Coaching and Training Code of Conduct and Philosophy

1.   M-Power Coaching philosophy

M-Power Coaching is committed to living from and conducting our business based on the following fundamentals:

  • Every human's birthright is unlimited potential for success, well-being and happiness. Happiness, well-being and abundance are our true nature. It is only the blocking of this that prevents us from experiencing it.
  • We are much more than a body.
  • We are creating all the results in our lives, both wanted and unwanted, whether we are aware of this or not. Therefore we have the ability to create results we want by being more aware and making conscious choices.
  • We have created experiences and circumstances in our lives from which to learn and gain increased knowledge and wisdom. There are gifts in all we have lived.
  • We created self-limiting, dis-empowering beliefs about ourselves and about life from these experiences. By uncovering these and becoming aware we can transform these and live a self-empowered life that is fuller, richer and happier.
  • Each of us has unique learning, knowledge and wisdom that perfectly compliments everyone else. It is possible to find expression for these in work that is fun, easy to do, energising, provides personal growth and we get paid to do it.
  • We have an 'on-board guidance' system that we can trust implicitly to show us the best choice anywhere, anytime, with anyone. It is designed to guide us to our goals and desires - the choice of whether to follow it is ours.
  • Life is a game to be entered into and played with. It is the process of creating (the journey) that is the focus, rather than the end results (the destination).
  • Contrast is a key part of the game and guidance system. Without contrasting experiences we would not be able to identify those that we prefer and therefore want. By welcoming the contrast we can transform our lives.
  • We live in an inclusive attraction based system. Whatever we focus on/give our energy to will grow and expand - The Law of Attraction. What we say 'yes' to we attract towards us. Likewise, what we shout 'no' at we attract into our experience.
  • Allowance or non-resistance is the way to receive all we desire learning to 'go with the flow of what feels best/good to us'.
  • Self-awareness, self-empowerment, self-responsibility and a desire for what is best for ones self, and in the best interest of all, are the tools of consciousness that moves us forward.
  • The wider community is enriched when we expand our vision and live the great adventure of life with fuller awareness and aliveness.
  • We are creators and we do this in partnership with amazing unconditional intelligence and creator power - it is a co-creative process. We are in control.
  • We have complete freedom to choose our own experience as we have complete freedom over the thoughts we chose to focus on.
  • Life is a journey not a destination. Enjoying the journey and experience of being a conscious co-creator is the goal.

2.   Code of Conduct

M-Power Coaching bases its Code on the International Coach Federation's Code Of Conduct.

1. The M-Power Coaching Philosophy of Coaching

M-Power Coaching adheres to a form of coaching that honours the individual receiving coaching (the Client) as the expert in his/her life and work, believes that every client is creative, resourceful and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach's responsibility is to:

  • Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve
  • Encourage client self-discovery
  • Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
  • Hold the client responsible and accountable

2. The M-Power Coaching Definition of Coaching

Professional Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organisations. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life. In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client's progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future. Coaches recognise that results are a matter of the client's intentions, choices and actions, supported by the coach's efforts and application of the coaching process.

3. The M-Power Coaching Code of Ethical Conduct for Coaches

  1. I will conduct myself in a manner that reflects well on coaching as a profession and I will refrain from doing anything that harms the public's understanding or acceptance of coaching as a profession.
  2. I will honour agreements I make in my all of my relationships. I will construct clear agreements with my clients that may include confidentiality, progress reports, and other particulars.
  3. I will respect and honour the efforts and contributions of others.

  8. I will not give my client or any prospective client information or advice I know to be misleading or beyond my competence.
  9. I will be alert to noticing when my client is no longer benefiting from our coaching relationship and would be better served by another coach or by another resource and, at that time, I will encourage my client to make that change.
  10. I will respect the confidentiality of my client's information, except as otherwise authorised by my client, or as required by law.
  11. I will obtain agreement with my client before releasing their names as clients or references or any other personal identifying information.

  13. I will seek to avoid conflicts between my interests and the interests of the client.
  14. Whenever any actual conflict of interest or the potential for a conflict of interest arises, I will openly disclose it and fully discuss with my client how to deal with it in whatever way best serves my client.
  15. I will disclose to my client all anticipated compensation from third parties that I may receive for referrals or advice concerning that client.
